Arsenal: Precious Time Being Wasted With Aaron Ramsey
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal are unlikely to start Aaron Ramsey yet again against Manchester United and many are in agreement. This is such wasted time and opportunity!
I didn’t intend to spout off anymore on the subject of the mistreatment of Aaron Ramsey, but various publications out there are running with this idea that it would be a marvelous waste of time, and a mistake, to let the Welshman trickle into Arsenal‘s starting XI.

I could not more staunchly oppose this viewpoint and I find it horrid that there are people out there that think that giving Ramsey a realistic chance (while we still can) is a waste of time and a potential mistake.
With Santi Cazorla out, Arsenal has been pining for some source of offensive potency deep in the formation. Granit Xhaka provides something of the sort, but his contributions usually come on very late. He is a responsible defender who sits back and only goes forward when the coast is clear.
That is very much unlike what Aaron Ramsey does, and similarly what Santi Cazorla does as well.
In the past, it has always been a necessity to always have either Cazorla or Ramsey in the starting XI because they provided an offensive push that could not be had with the Gunner’s other resources.
What happened to that confidence in the two? Where you could rely on either/both to do the job that was asked of them?

The only argument I can see against Ramsey is that he hasn’t looked good since his return, but that is so easily refutable. He is being played out of position and he has some injury rust to shake off. Give him some slack.
Look at what he did on international duty, as well as what he does when he has a good long run in the team. It is indisputable.
I wrote just yesterday how Santi Cazorla’s injury must be taken advantage of, but let me reiterate that again. For the sake of Arsenal not handcuffing themselves to the whims and health of the Spanish magician, we have to rejuvenate Aaron Ramsey, who provides an alternative to a position that is clearly so vital. You could even argue that the position is the most important, as it is the one position Arsenal can’t seem to do without.

The shoddy thing about this is that we know (yes, know), that Ramsey can play central midfield. So why this sudden resistance?
