Arsenal: Jose Mourinho Complaints Ironically Direspectful
Jose Mourinho has complained that he does not get the same respect as Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger. Such comments, though, belie his management style.
The contrasting styles of many successful managers throughout history indicate the various ways in which trophies can be achieved in football. The tough-talking, abrasive style of Sir Alex Ferguson, the cold, calm and calculated approach of Pep Guardiola and the respectful, dignified manner that Arsenal’s own Arsene Wenger have all brought great success to their clubs.

There isn’t a method for success. Rather, there is a whole recipe book and everyone must sculpt their own, personal way. For Wenger, he has looked towards the usually contrasting principles of respect for people and respect of money to build his club.

It is these moral principles that have seen him so dignified throughout his time in North London. Jose Mourinho has, in the build-up to his side’s hosting of the Gunners, been complaining about the apparent mercies from the media that Wenger is afforded, stating that he deserves more respect than what he is getting:
"“Tomorrow is a match between two managers with the best record in the Premier League. Sir Alex Ferguson is not here any more and we have won six or seven titles between us. Should we be respected even in periods when our results are not the best? I think Mr Wenger has that from all of you. I don’t think I have even though my last Premier League title was 18 months ago. Not 18 years. I don’t get that respect.”"
I mean, it is ironic that perhaps the most disrespectful, egotistical, detestable men in football is complaining about the lack of respect that he is apparently getting himself. He compares his troubles to the easy road that his Arsenal counterpart receives. Well, the issue that Mourinho has never been able to accept throughout his bristled career is the very shocking possibility that he might be wrong.
Mourinho’s stubbornness, in an arrogant and ignorant way, has seen him make as many enemies as friends at every club that has managed. Whether it be the media, the players or the medical staff, Mourinho is not a likeable character.

So Jose, excuse me for completely disregarding your plea for respect but, quite frankly, you doesn’t deserve any.
