Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

I am frequently harsh on Theo Walcott. I call him mean things and wish ill things upon him. Sometimes I feel bad about it, sometimes I don’t.

Against Manchester United, Walcott was just as bad as every other attacker the Gunner’s had. But again, I acquit him of any blame. That attack was so painfully isolated, plus, Walcott was expecting the birth of a son. That can be distracting.

In the name of rotation, reward, and focus, I am advocating for the Ox to get a start, despite what I just wrote about the man and Wenger not jumping the gun, throwing him into the starting XI. This is different. This is as much for Walcott as it is for the Ox.

Plus, we have to start finding some sort of balance in the wide areas. If that involves Iwobi or Ox, that’s fine, but someone has to start making a claim to the role. Some sort of internal competitions has to start brewing because, as of right now, there isn’t any.

I also don’t mind the idea of resting Alexis. But as I do not think that will happen, the next best thing is to start him out wide. Let him have less responsibility so his weary legs can’t hurt us as much.

Finally, the big two.
