Arsenal travel to Switzerland to face an underrated Basel side on Tuesday night. Here are the complete player ratings from the 4-1 win.

In a game in which they had to win and hope that Paris Saint-Germain were unable to do so, Arsenal were ruthlessly professional, scoring two early goals and adding two early second half goals to kill the game and allow Arsene Wenger to rest the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in the closing stages. Also, PSG could only muster a draw, meaning the Gunners now qualify top of the group.

Here are the player ratings from the impressive 4-1 win.

7.1. Quiet day for Ospina. Couldn’t do anything about the goal, made the saves he had to, including one to his right – even though the players was called for offside, he wouldn’t have known. Still never going to push Cech for the weekend role, however.. GK. Arsenal. DAVID OSPINA

7.5. Very solid display fro, Gabriel Paulista. Being asked to play in an unnatural position, his pace and mobility serve him well. It is worrying that Carl Jenkinson is not starting, though. His confidence, as Wenger has suggested, must be truly shot.. RB. Arsenal FC. GABRIEL PAULISTA

Led the team well once again, this time not with his usual partner in crime. Growing as a leader and a communicator at the back but hasn’t lost any of the athleticism that has enamoured fans for so long.. CB. Arsenal. LAURENT KOSCIELNY. 7.9

6.7. Played really well throughout apart from one crucial error. Gave the ball away for the goal to Doumbia, then was skinned with a nice turn and couldn’t recover. That’s the nature of the position, though, and Holding will only learn from it.. CB. Arsenal. ROB HOLDING

Arsenal. KIERAN GIBBS. 8.5. Excellent display from Gibbs. Didn’t have much to do defensively but got forward to great effect, racking up two, maybe three, assists, creating chances and causing issues with his pace. Now pushing Monreal very hard indeed for the starting job.. LB

CM. Arsenal. AARON RAMSEY. 7.2. Tidy and comfortable in the middle of the park. Provides the rhythm that the side lack when Santi Cazorla is missing. Clearly more comfortable in this role than out wide or even just off the striker.

7.4. Similar to Ramsey. Played some lovely incisive, forward balls into the feet of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. Was strong in the tackle and powerful in the air but was caught too high up the pitch a couple of times. Getting better.. CM. Arsenal FC. GRANIT XHAKA

Arsenal. ALEX IWOBI. 5.9. Do not let his goal deceive you. Consistently gave the ball away, lacked the confidence to try things in the final third, and while he showed great awareness and movement for his goal, did not consistently make enough runs off the ball.. LM

LUCAS PEREZ. 9.1. In open play, was solid, but not spectacular. Gave the ball away cheaply and created little. In front of goal, though, he was sensational and showed a knack for scoring goals. The perfect player in a team that will create lots of opportunities for him. Hat-trick will do his confidence the world of good.. RM. Arsenal

MAN OF THE MATCH: Many will say that Perez deserves the man of the match but Ozil was phenomenal. Played three fantastic passes for three of the four goals, completely ran the show and is at his absolute peak alongside Sanchez.. CAM. Arsenal. MESUT OZIL. 9.5

ALEXIS SANCHEZ. 8.4. Still incredibly dangerous, even when he does not get on the scoresheet. Excellent pass for Perez’s first goal and Iwobi’s only pass. Was very unlucky to not score from a wicked free kick but his movement was an issue throughout.. ST. Arsenal

OLIVIER GIROUD. 7.4. Held the ball up well and connected with Ozil a couple of times during the brief time they were on the pitch. Does limit the attacking potential of the team, though, with Sanchez in such fine fettle.. SUB. Arsenal

7.2. Little to say about Elneny as he came on with the game already over. Very tidy in possession but does not have the same potential as Granit Xhaka or Aaron Ramsey. Very dependable depth, however.. SUB. Arsenal. MOHAMED ELNENY

7.3. Made a few darts late in the game, brought an injection of pace, but also came on with a dying atmosphere on the pitch. Now has genuine competition from Perez for his starting role out wide.. SUB. Arsenal. THEO WALCOTT
