10. Confidence for Alex Iwobi

I wonder what it is like for a manager to see such a talented young man and know exactly what he needs to do to capitalize fully on that talent, yet the player himself just needs time. It’s probably very similar to parenting (not that I would know) where you just need patience. In time, they will stop being so young and unpredictable and be an adult capable of amazing things.

Alex Iwobi is in that stage. We all see how talented he is and Wenger openly shows how confident he is in the lad by continuously finding him play time, even when it does’t make then most sense.

Yet here we are, still wondering when, if ever, Iwobi will really put it all together and stop being like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, rely on the ebb and flow of confidence.

Confidence plays a huge role in just about every player’s career, but the truly great ones are the ones that don’t have to wait for bursts of confidence in order to be at their best. An Iwobi that is lacking in confidence is a frustrating thing and while it only ranks in at No. 10 on this list, if Wenger receives this, the Holidays will be a happy time.

Moving onto the No. 9 spot on Wenger’s Christmas list, let’s get mental.
