5. A Mesut Ozil contract

The biggest story line of this Arsenal season is the title. Can the Gunner’s defy the new influx of superstar managers and prove that the old way still has some merit in the new-look Premier League.

But the second and third biggest stories are the ongoing contract stand-offs of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. The German maestro has always looked like the one more likely to stay, as he continues to state his love for the club, the city and the fans. He is a cult hero and the central cog of a very powerful offense.

Even in his disappearance act over the past week, there is still nary an outcry that he needs to move on. Because that would be silly. Everyone still wants him here and (hopefully) it is only a matter of time. Wouldn’t it be nice if that time was Christmas? We would have yet another reason for the season!

The German maestro can be an Arsenal legend, especially now that he has figured out how to score. That’s scary.

Since we’re on the subject of contracts, let’s go ahead and get that other one out of the way at No. 4.
