Arsenal are reportedly lining up Marco Reus as a possible replacement for Alexis Sanchez. He is a viable solution for the conundrum of the Chilean.
The prevalent storyline of this season for Arsenal has centred on the futures of two men. The recent revolution of success that has been enjoyed at the Emirates has been founded on two crucial signings; Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Both Sanchez and Ozil have repeatedly delayed contract talks with the club. Reports have surfaced suggesting that they are looking for an exit while the fans are left in a state of utter uncertainty as they wait for news on possible contract progress. Now, with the January transfer window coming to a close and the summer on the horizon, thoughts shift to the time of great worry in which both have just a year remaining on their deals and sharks begin to circle, mouths gaping.
Contingency plans must be made and if recent reports are to be believed, then it seems as though Wenger and the club have already penned some ideas. Players of Sanchez and Ozil’s calibre are difficult to find. They are a very rare breed indeed. But in Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus, Arsenal may well have an avenue worth exploring.
The reports state that the winger could be available for a bid in the region of £51 million, a figure that Arsenal are willing to match, and that he would be interested in testing himself in realms of the Premier League. There is scope for the blockbuster deal to happen – although I wouldn’t hold your breath in expectation given the history of hesitation of Wenger with regards to such sensational moves. But would Reus offer a viable solution to the conundrum that Sanchez’s exit conspires?
The 27-year-old is a versatile attacker, capable of playing centrally if needed but is far more comfortable out wide. He is exceptionally quick and boasts an impressive rate of attacking production, having scored 107 goals and recorded 60 assists in Bundesliga, Champions League and international games.

Reus is a wonderfully gifted player. He is ruthless in front of goal, is intelligent in his movement and has an excellent delivery off his left side. While it would be a surprise to see this move take place, if Sanchez was to leave, Arsenal would need to make a rather substantial move and Reus is a more than viable option.
