Arsenal travelled to Stamford Bridge in a title-defining for the Saturday lunchtime kick-off. Here are the complete player ratings from the 3-1 loss.

Arsenal were overpowered, overmatched and overrun as Chelsea completed a comfortable 3-1 victory to end their London rivals’ slim title hopes. It was a tactical masterclass from Antonio Conte, with his 3-4-3 system causing the Gunners all sorts of issues on the counter attack, so much so, that the three goals they did concede was a kind scoreline on Arsene Wenger’s side.

Here are the player ratings from the disastrous performance and result.

3.0. Failed to tip Diego Costa’s header to safety for the first goal, then let a simple Pedro shot slip behind for a corner rather than catching the ball and the less we talk about his mistake for the third, the better. A very poor day at the office for Cech.. GK. Arsenal FC. PETR CECH

Arsenal. HECTOR BELLERIN. N/A. Was on the pitch for hardly any time at all. Couldn’t do much for the first goal. It was nothing more than simply being overpowered by Costa and then Marcos Alonso. Let’s hope he recovers quickly.. DEF

5.0. Koscielny was dragged out wide on numerous occasions and was unable to stop Eden Hazard for the crucial second goal. He did not play well, but he was far from the primary culprit for the defensive meltdown.. DEF. Arsenal FC. LAURENT KOSCIELNY

Arsenal FC. SHKODRAN MUSTAFI. 5.5. Slightly better than his partner but again was not the solution. There seems to be no one who is able to make defensive adjustments in this team when the pre-match plan isn’t taking effect. Naive.. DEF

DEF. Arsenal FC. NACHO MONREAL. 4.0. Monreal is relentlessly willing to push forward, vacating space on the counter attack without ever producing any attacking returns. He is no longer reliable defensively and perhaps could well be under pressure from Kieran Gibbs in the remainder of the season.

FRANCIS COQUELIN. 3.5. It was a horribly poor performance from Coquelin. He was the primary culprit for the second goal, was unable to dictate play and is found it when Santi Cazorla is not alongside him.. MID. Arsenal

MID. Arsenal FC. ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN. 5.0. He tried to pull the proverbial strings but lacked the consistency in his distribution to ever excel in the role for Arsenal. He does have a future in a central role but the pairing of Kante and Matic are very difficult opponents.

4.5. Struggled to influence the game in any way, shape or form. Was shifted from wide to central back to a wide position throughout the 90 minutes and had little effect from either position.. MID. Arsenal FC. ALEX IWOBI

4.0. Theo is an extremely frustrating figure. He looks so dangerous at times, with his pace and ruthless finishing, but his touch lets him down consistently and his intelligence in his movement off the ball is woeful. It is the latter weaknesses that highlighted his poor performance on Saturday.. MID. Arsenal FC. THEO WALCOTT

4.0. Another big away game and another anonymous Mesut Ozil display. If the German wants the eye-watering wages that he is reportedly demanding, then he must start playing more Hazard, rather than his haphazardous self, in these big games.. MID. Arsenal FC. MESUT OZIL

Arsenal FC. ALEXIS SANCHEZ. 5.0. Worked tirelessly but had very little to work from all game. The midfield battle was lost in such a way that the Chilean simply didn’t see the ball. Difficult to blame him for the loss, however.. FOR

SUB. Arsenal FC. GABRIEL PAULISTA. 5.0. Feel very sorry for Gabriel. Asked to play out of position up against Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso while also providing an attacking threat. A difficult task but was naive in his positioning on numerous occasions.

SUB. Arsenal FC. OLIVIER GIROUD. 5.5. Scored a good goal with his famous front post. flicked header, but came on well before that point and way anonymous for much of it. His touch was a little poor at times, struggling to deal with David Luiz’s attentions.

6.0. MAN OF THE MATCH: The fact that a substitute is the man of the match perhaps tells you all you need to know. Welbeck came on, took players on, looked very sharp and is now pushing hard for a regular starting berth fitness pending.. SUB. Arsenal FC. DANNY WELBECK
