Arsenal: Bayern Munich Different Proposition To Hull City
Arsenal stuttered past Hull City in a hard-fought 2-0 win on Saturday. When they face Bayern Munich, though, it will be a far different proposition.
It was a good result for Arsenal on Saturday. Hull City have been rejuvenated under new manager Marco Silva, enjoying his meticulous and detailed ways, having beaten Liverpool last weekend, drawing with Manchester United the week before and beating the same opponents in the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final.

The two-goal win was not a given whatsoever and Arsene Wenger’s side had to work hard for their three points. However, Hull did create numerous chances, especially in the second half and deserved more than they were restricted to come full-time. While the result was a positive for the Gunners, the performance was sub-standard, and that is worrying with Bayern Munich on the horizon.
With the Premier League title out of reach, the Champions League is now the only hope of a trophy that indicates progress – another FA Cup win, while it should be celebrated, is something that does not see Arsenal elevate their success from recent seasons. Consequently, yet another last-16 tie against Bayern Munich becomes a game of the utmost importance.
The German champions have not been in the best of form this year, struggling to adapt to Carlo Ancelotti’s new system which has altered the possession-based approach of Pep Guardiola that has been so heavily entrenched within the squad. Nonetheless, they are still a team blessed with tremendously talented players, capable of moments of brilliance and stifling defence.
The pace and the trickery of Diego Costa and Kingsley Coman in wide areas, the experience of Philip Lahm in marshaling a diligent defence and the power and the drive of Arturo Vidal in central midfield all make Bayern a huge challenge for Arsenal that will be extremely tough to overcome.
