Zlatan Ibrahimovic is letting his half-success at Manchester United go to his head with his swipe at Arsenal, but like Mourinho, what point does he actually have?

I used to think Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the bees knees. He was one of my favorite non-Arsenal players and I relished the chance to watch him play. Not only that, but I would have welcomed him at the Emirates.

Well, the big Swede has come out and stomped all over that, saying exactly what his master always says.

“There are other clubs that didn’t win for 10 years. I’ve won what they won in 10 years, so I’m happy with that,” he said, via the Metro.

Clearly Zlatan is showing his ignorance of the hierarchy of trophies in England, as well as severely miscalculating. He is also showing his own ignorance as to how horribly his new team is underperforming.

Zlatan is saying that an FA Community Shield and a EFL Cup is the equivalent of two FA Cups. This is tragically, tragically wrong. The EFL Cup is peppered with teams sending out their youth and reserve squads until the much later rounds and even then, sometimes it will take until the final to see actual first-team squads.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

That is, unless you’re Manchester United and have nothing else to play for.

United have been mired in 6th since… ever. They still have hope in the FA Cup, but if they can’t get past Chelsea, which is quite the test, then they will have to settle on these two massive trophies they have won this year.

Also, last I checked, when Arsenal won the FA Cup, it wasn’t a major trophy by Mourinho’s standards. But now the Community Shield counts as a major trophy? And if so, that means that Arsenal has won four major trophies in the past ten years, as they won two Community Shields against Manchester City and Chelsea, but you know, math isn’t for everyone.

It was getting to be kind of nice to not have to listen to Mourinho spout out about his own inflated sense of self worth, but now he has Zlatan puppeting his same old script and bringing double-standards to a whole new level.

Oh well, when Zlatan loses out to Alexis for the Golden Boot and Manchester United remain firmly in 6th for the rest of the season and miss out on the Champions League… again, then I’m sure there will be a brand new, illogical way for Mourinho’s puppet army to claim they’ve done better than Arsenal.
