Arsenal’s inbox is going to be flooded with bids for Alexis Sanchez, but this first round has given us nothing but hope in the face of despair.

The thought of Alexis Sanchez leaving Arsenal makes me sick. And I know I’m not alone in that regard. It doesn’t need to happen and the Gunners clearly have the resources to keep him if they want to. All they have to do is pry the money from the stone hands of Sir Chips Keswick and his band of directors.

There just aren’t a lot of positive vibes to find in the Alexis sphere. Even if he goes out and scores a hat trick against Liverpool, we still have that looming dread that he is probably going to leave this summer, despite how much he says he wants to stay (yeah, I’m pretty bitter).

If there was going to be anything uplifting about this whole sad, scenario, though, I think we may have found it.

Juventus supposedly submitted a £25m bid for the Chilean. While some may find that insulting, I find it thoroughly hilarious. That is nowhere near what the Chilean is worth and if the bids keep coming in like that, we have absolutely nothing to worry about.

There really is no reason why Juve would try to undercut his worth so much. 28 isn’t that old, he is clearly in his prime and his work rate alone is worth far more than that.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Even the Arsenal board, in their limited wisdom, wouldn’t dare to accept a bid like that. They wouldn’t dare. And maybe I keep saying that to convince myself, but seriously, they wouldn’t accept that, would they?

That’s not to say that Juventus won’t up their bid, but the difference between what they offered and what he is clearly worth should be enough to give us some hope. Juve seemed to be the biggest suitor of Alexis and the fit seems pretty good, but they would need to near double that bid in order to be seriously considered.

Again though, that’s depending on how much faith you have in the board and I will completely forgive anyone who has zero faith in them. I’m right there with you.

Even then, though, this bid is hilarious and nothing to worry about. As I said, if anything, take some solace in how far off that price is from what he is actually worth.
