Arsenal travelled to Anfield to face Liverpool for the Saturday evening kick-off. Here are the full player ratings from the 3-1 loss.

It’s as if Arsenal attempt to beat their previous worst performance of the season every game. After an anonymous display against Chelsea on which their faint Premier League hopes hung, the Gunners outdid themselves with a 5-1 dismantling at the hands of Bayern Munich. They then served the real treat on Saturday, with Arsene Wenger seemingly going mad and dropping Alexis Sanchez and the team lacking any semblance of effort in a terrible 3-1 loss.

Here are the player ratings from Saturday evening’s battering by Liverpool.

Arsenal FC. PETR CECH. 6.0. Can’t be blamed for any of the goals whatsoever. Made the saves he had to, collected the crosses he had to. Difficult to grade him positively or negatively.. GK

Arsenal. HECTOR BELLERIN. 6.0. The best defender for the Gunners on Saturday – not that that is saying anything. Was unable to offer much going forward in the first half but was relentless bombing up and down in the second half. Still, was far from the solution.. DEF

5.0. Not great from Mustafi. The whole back four were disorganised, showed poor communication and couldn’t deal with the fluid movement of Firmino, Coutinho and Mane.. DEF. Arsenal FC. SHKODRAN MUSTAFI

Slightly better than his partner but was inexplicably beaten in the air by Firmino for the opening goal and again was unable to organise his team throughout. Though he could do little for the horrible man who played wide of him.. DEF. Arsenal FC. LAURENT KOSCIELNY. 5.5

1.0. Utterly utterly awful. Credit must be given to Saido Mane who was excellent throughout but Monreal was terrible. Has struggled all season, especially against pacy wingers, and must must must be replaced in the summer.. DEF. Arsenal FC. NACHO MONREAL

MID. Arsenal. FRANCIS COQUELIN. 1.5. Almost equally terrible from Coquelin. Rio Ferdinand summed it up best at half-time: “Neither of these midfielders have a defensive bone in their body.” Coquelin also must be replaced in the summer. Technically poor, defensively unaware and simply not good enough.

3.0. Shocking in the first half. Slightly better in the second. His future is as the deepest-lying player and plays far better alongside a Chamberlain or Cazorla or Ramsey. But must start to prove his worth moving forward.. MID. Arsenal FC. GRANIT XHAKA

Arsenal FC. ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN. 7.0. MAN OF THE MATCH: At least tried in the first half. Was willing to drive at players and attempt passes and runs forward. Was much better in the second-half, showing a dangerous burst and accurate distribution. Should be the starting central midfielder moving forward.. MID

Arsenal FC. ALEX IWOBI. 4.0. Very very poor from Iwobi once again. Couldn’t keep the ball for toffee in the first-half, and while he improved in the second half, still lacked incision at the crucial times in the final third. Does not deserving to be starting as of now.. MID

7.0. Perhaps deserving of the man of the match thanks to his delightful clipped finish over Mignolet. Should enjoy a run of starts in succession nowadays and will begin staking his claim to be a regular starter next season.. MID. Arsenal FC. DANNY WELBECK

5.5. Was wholly isolated in the first-half, lacking any sort of consistent, accurate service. Played slightly better in the second half but should not start in these games. Why the hell Wenger wanted his team to sit deep and play on the break and then started Giroud as the lone striker, I will never know? Not that that is Giroud’s fault, mind.. ST. Arsenal FC. OLIVIER GIROUD

7.0. Why in the world did Alexis Sanchez not start this game? Created Arsenal’s only goal of the game and worked hard to create chances. Very difficult to see how he deson’t leave in the summer.. SUB. Arsenal. ALEXIS SANCHEZ
