1. Lucas Perez

When he was robbed of a start against Lincoln City, I almost bought a “My Condolences” card for Lucas Perez, addressed it to the Emirates, and hoped that it got into his hands. This poor guy simply cannot catch a break and I do not get it.

It’s Joel Campbell all over again. Here we have a perfectly talented player who is versatile in his skill set, capable of pulling goals from nothing and boasts an incredibly solid goal production record, yet Arsene Wenger avoids him like the plague. He just won’t play him.

Wenger leaving would be welcome to Lucas, I have no doubts. He has been very vocal about how he was expecting so much more and how all he can do now is be patient. It’s sad really, as the Spaniard is nearing 30 and has had a career chock-full of just needing chances.

Arsenal was supposed to be that chance and what few chances he has had, he has delivered on. He just hasn’t had enough.

If there is anyone that Alexis could lean on for a bit of support in these divisive times, I have no doubts that it would be Lucas Perez, the latest victim of the No. 9 shirt.
