Arsenal’s midfield maestro Mesut Ozil has finally admitted that his future isn’t tied to Arsene Wenger’s. So now it’s your turn, Hector Bellerin.

Arsenal has numerous arising personnel situations to deal with, including, but not limited to, the future of Alexis Sanchez and Arsene Wenger. Both play such a big part in the club, but it feels like the two are looking to move the club forward in different directions.

Somewhere down the list of growing problems is Hector Bellerin. The Spaniard has declared over and over that he loves Arsenal for giving him his first real chance, but speculation is now out there that if Wenger leaves, so too could the Spaniard.

In the past, Bellerin has been incredibly quick to shoot down any and all rumors. And to be fair, he has no obligation to do that. If anything, he has spoiled us how prompt he is with shooting down wayward rumors tying him to Barcelona or other footballing powerhouses.

Mesut Ozil was in a similar situation, although he actually did come out and say that he wanted to see what happened with Wenger before he decided his fate. Then he changed his tune and said that he wouldn’t leave Arsenal just because the “trainer” leaves.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Hector Bellerin is a fan favorite and a huge point of pride for Gooners, as he is quickly rising to become one of the most valuable defenders in the footballing world. But one way to run supporters the wrong way is to be tied to this idea that if Arsene Wenger leaves, you leave.

And to Barcelona, nonetheless, the club that Cesc Fabregas first went to when he ditched the Gunners. It’s something Bellerin has swore up and down he would never do, but is now openly considering doing depending on Wenger’s future. That’s not a good look, needless to say.

Now, again, he didn’t outright say that. But as he has spoiled us in the past, and since Mesut Ozil has cleared himself of all association with that “Wenger goes, I go” school of thought, the spotlight  is now on Bellerin, as it was him and Ozil that were rumored to be tied to Wenger. Now it is all on Bellerin.
