4. Danny Welbeck Isn’t A Magic Wand

I know exactly what happened here. So let me break it down before I get into the sad reality of it. When Danny Welbeck got hurt, it was just after he had scored what we thought would be a massive, monumental goal against Leicester City last year.

Then he was gone. And in the process of being gone, Arsenal didn’t win the title, they got offto a rough start against Liverpool and they started to make it clear that they probably weren’t in title contention.

Then Danny Welbeck came back, amidst the relative mediocrity and all of the questionable spirits of the club and, as supporters, all we could think of were the positives of Danny Welbeck. His blinding raw talent and his Leicester goal.

But maybe in the process of being blindingly optimistic, we forgot that Welbeck isn’t exactly the perfect solution we thought he was. I’m not coming down harshly on Welbeck because he is still getting back into the swing of things, but it was a bit of a wake up call to see that Welbeck isn’t the magic wand that we thought he was.

And by that I just means that we let ourselves get carried away a bit.

Next up at No. 3, let’s hit rock bottom, all together!
