Maybe Arsenal Isn’t Right For Massimiliano Allegri After All
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal nation has been banking on a manager like Massimiliano Allegri to shake things up, but he may have inadvertently steered off that track.
Arsenal has a bit of a lethargic virus going around and while guys like Alexis Sanchez and Shkodran Mustafi have tried to upset that, the pervading sense of just not caring is painful to see. It’s what’s led to so many fans lashing out at the players and the players responding by saying “be patient.”

You could say that there is a bit of a negativity about the club that has worsened over the past couple of years. While everything was supposed to improve, it just hasn’t. No single episode depicts that better than Alexis having to scream at his team mates to come celebrate a goal.
It doesn’t get much more negative than that.
There have been a lot of theories on how to improve that motivational problem and many of them involve a new manager. Guys like Diego Simeone are firecrackers that would cut this poor attitude right in the bud.
Massimiliano Allegri looked to be the best option. Anyone that isn’t afraid to stand up to his side’s superstars should be a welcome presence. He would shake things up, light a fire and hopefully solve this motivation problem.

However, Allegri has flipped out on Juventus again, saying that there is such a ‘negative aura’ with the club, adding later: “You have a choice. You can see positives, but hear you only see negatives, god damn it! It’s not good.”
I can’t imagine how much Allegri would lose his mind watching an incredibly talented Arsenal squad traipse about the pitch like nothing is at stake. We see far too much of Arsene Wenger sitting by, watching his uninspired collection of individuals.
And then the players would come out after and talk about how inspired they actually are.
Allegri would flip. Especially when Mesut Ozil gets shoved off the ball, gets up slowly, shrugs his shoulders and goes back to loafing. Allegri would either shape Ozil up into an even more inspiring superstar, or he would push him so hard that he would leave.
Which, leads to a very open-ended narrative about what is best for the club.

On the bright side, There is a fight in this Arsenal side and Allegri’s fury might well be enough to awaken it for more than fifteen minute spurts. He and Alexis would get along like lon lost best friends, and I have to imagine Shkodran Mustafi and Granit Xhaka would react well also.
