Arsenal has out-of-the-blue been linked with Kinglsey Coman, which is equal parts unbelievable and mouth-watering. It would be the ultimate amendment as well.

Arsenal transfer rumors can be annoying little things. They always awaken these thoughts that we never even thought we could have. This new link to Kinglsey Coman has done just that. This ridiculously talented 20 year old is going to be a huge player and I had never even considered him coming to the Emirates.

I hate to admit it, but he seemed “unattainable.”

That being said, if this reported interest is indeed real and Arsene Wenger is intent on going after the young Frenchman, then it would absolutely make amends for every beyond-frustrating move Wenger has made recently on the wings.

For starters, it would make up for the Serge Gnaby devastation. And yes, I mean devastation. Gnabry was our Coman, he was everything you could want in a winger and he had already shown his ability to mesh with the first team.

Now at Werder Bremen, Gnabry has become one of the hottest prospects on the market all over again. Even with missing the last few weeks, Gnabry has tallied ten goals and an assist, which puts him in the top 10 scorers list in the Bundesliga. No big deal.

Then there was Joel Campbell. Enigmatic and unpredictable, Campbell was a weapon with a ton of facets. But Wenger sent him away on another loan, despite his breakthrough into the first team and now it appears likely that he will be off this summer.

Both instances infuriated me, but seeing Kinglsey Coman, the crowned prince of domineering wingers, come in their stead would absolutely remove that fury from my mind.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Arsenal has struggled for actual wingers lately, as Wenger is always more keen to slip central midfielders out wide. Only Theo Walcott is a true winger, as Alex Iwobi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are more suited to central roles.

Coman would solve that remarkable drought on the wings by giving us someone we could rely on for years and years.

Chelsea are also in on Coman, whose two-year loan from Juventus to Bayern Munich runs up this summer, but Carl Ancelotti has asserted that the Frenchman will at the German powerhouse. Given that they have a purchase clause in the loan deal, the ball is in Ancelotti’s court.

Still, Coman has hardly featured this year, playing just 622 Bundesliga minutes.

Even with that considered, though, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are both 33 and nearing the end, which will open a massive door for Coman in the future.
