Arsenal are hot on the heels of Sead Kolasinac and as they win this battle, be reminded that Arsene Wenger still has something up his sleeve.

After being reported that Sead Kolasinac had agreed to join Arsenal, it was then rerouted into a two-way battle. Now, yet again, it is being said that the Bosnian has agreed to come to the Emirates and because of one specific reason.

Because of Arsene Wenger.

Now, no matter what you think of Kolasinac, here is what we know: He has been one of the best overall players in the Bundesliga this year and Everton, Chelsea and AC Milan were all after him, as well as more, in all likelihood.

A high demand player like that has options and all signs point to him choosing Arsenal because Le Prof is still there.

Now, I am at the point where I would fully entertain the idea of Wenger leaving, but after being prompted by Ivan Gazidis to be the “catalyst for change,” I have to admit that I am curious to see what the most successful manager in Arsenal history comes up with.

Initial reports are rather good. The fact that he can still sway high-demand players like Kolasinac proves something pretty clear. He has a lot of pull even yet. We have seen this quite a bit with the current stock of players, as Granit Xhaka, Shkodran Mustafi, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil all cited Wenger as a major piece of the reason why they chose North London.

And they all did choose North London. They chose this culture and they chose Arsene Wenger.

Kolasinac has to know that Wenger is not going to be around all that much longer, yet he still seems willing to come on over, largely on the grounds that Wenger stays.

Apparently there is something that players see in Wenger as desirable for their growing process.

Say what you want about Kolasinac, but there are certain things you cannot deny. While some will go around and say he isn’t good enough and that we should only have the best of the best, the simple truth is that Kolasinac is one of the up and coming and the best of the best aren’t always keen on a move.

So the next best thing is getting someone who could be part of the next generation of the best of the bests.

Wenger still has tricks up his sleeves. I don’t think there is any questioning that much.
