Arsenal hasn’t been able to find the same Welsh magic that Aaron Ramsey produced in his breakout year, but that doesn’t mean it’s over.

Arsenal has handed another chance to Aaron Ramsey in the hopes of him regaining his fantastic form from just a couple of years ago and while they’ve handed him numerous chances in between, this one might well be different. But it requires something we may not want to grant him.

By now, patience is an evil word in the Arsenal circles. No one wants to hear the word uttered. Mainly because Alex Iwobi had the horrible idea to call supporters impatient. But also because, to the supporter’s credit, they have been patient.

So when I say that patience is needed with Aaron Ramsey, I expect more boos and hisses than I do cheers and applause. But I will say it anyway, and keep in mind, I don’t say this without reason: Aaron Ramsey needs our patience.

It was clear that he just didn’t fit into Arsenal anymore, especially in the position that he required, but with this new formation change, we are going to see the return of the Welshman, if he is given the proper chance.

And before I go any further, let me just say that when he was dispossessed on the edge of the City goal box and Sergio Aguero went on to score, well that was hardly all Ramsey’s fault. He didn’t lose the ball in a bad position. He lost it so far up the field that the majority of the blame has to be cast on Nacho Monreal, for his inability to slow down Aguero, the center backs, because where were they, and Petr Cech, because why didn’t he claim the ball?

Anyway, onward about Ramsey. I think that, whatever your opinion of him is, we can all agree that there is talent somewhere in there, and a unique talent that requires some unique circumstances to be in play.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

That can be tough to reenact, but this formation is a fantastic way to start, as it mimics what he has with the Welsh National team.

Ramsey, if given the chance, could make a huge statement for himself as the season winds down, from his new position and, depending on what is done in the summer, might even be able to convince Wenger that he deserves first dibs going into the new season.

This would be quite the story for Aaron Ramsey. To go from the undisputed star of the club, to being a nonfactor for three straight years, only to reemerge with proof that all he ever needed was a system that favored his playing style.

And yes, I realize that his breakout year came when he was in the 4-2-3-1 that doesn’t have room for him anymore, but that was years ago, players change and tactics change (even at Arsenal) and so does the game itself.

Ramsey was very adamant about how he and his team mates wanted to win the FA Cup for Wenger. The Welshmen’s loyalties have never faltered. What he always needed was a system to bring out his best and he has found that.
