Arsenal: 5 transfers still attainable without Champions League football
By Josh Sippie
2. Kasper Dolberg
Kasper Dolberg comes from that esteemed Ajax system that gave us Donyell Malen. This Danish forward was admittedly surprised when he was given first team duties upon Arek Milik’s departure to Napoli, but the surprise ended there, because he has done a fantastic job.
With 19 goals and seven assists across all competitions, Dolberg is on the cusp of something great, as so many from Ajax have been before. But unlike other strikers that have just hit the international spotlight (Andrea Belotti), Dolberg doesn’t figure to have a similarly enormous price tag. However, as it stands, the Dane has admitted that a move to Manchester United or Manchester City would be too big for him.
Perhaps a club outside of the Champions League spectrum and with a nurturing manager like Wenger would be more desirable.
And besides, who does Dolberg admire?
“In England, I followed Arsenal because of Thierry Henry,” he said, as quoted by the Express.
It would take some convincing, that’s for sure, and Dolberg was adamant about how he just needs to keep playing, but depending on what happens to Arsenal this summer, he may be able to play more than he’d expect.
Finally, at No. 1, someone ripe for the picking.
