Danny Welbeck

Inconsistent he may be but Danny Welbeck offers Arsenal something that not many strikers do. His pace, combined with his rare physical prowess is an enticing combination and one that could pay off for Arsenal if Welbeck is awarded time.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Since his move from historic rivals Manchester United, Welbeck’s career has been blighted by injuries. Those injuries don’t seem to have taken away any of his burst, but it is inarguable that Welbeck needs to find the net more consistently if he is to keep his place in the team moving forward.

Arsenal have needed a striker for years and in all likelihood, they will look to purchase one, maybe two, during the summer window. Olivier Giroud may decide to depart if he is unhappy with his substitute role, and Arsene Wenger has already spoken regarding Lucas Perez’s uncertain future.

"“Yes, of course. He’s a top-quality striker and I couldn’t give him the games that he wants and that he deserves. I must confess that…If I’m the manager, I would love to keep him. We have to sit down together and see if he has a reasonable chance to play next season or not.”"

Regardless, Danny Welbeck needs to stay and Arsenal need to see what he can do.
