Arsenal: Everton Alexis Sanchez’s launching pad, not exit
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal will head into the final week of the season with so many questions, but one question that needs to be put to rest is involving Alexis Sanchez.
Arsenal definitely has a lot to face up to this off-season, with or without the Champions League. But one thing that is certain, that we absolutely know, and don’t try to tell me otherwise, is that Alexis Sanchez is staying for next year. Not only has Arsene Wenger made that perfectly clear, but Alexis has, with his actions, shown that he is so far from an exit.

All these “reports” that Alexis is going to be bid farewell to against Everton are based on some belief that Alexis is unhappy. But he isn’t. Not once has he even hinted that he wants to leave. He said that bit about wanting to stay in London and win, but he isn’t the treacherous type.
Alexis is in North London to be a legend. Yes, he is disappointed and frustrated that the team hasn’t competed as much as he would have liked. But believe it or not, he isn’t the only one. There are plenty of players on this team that are disappointed. Plenty of guys who have too much quality to be in the Europa League.
That is motivation. And this last match against Everton, this is not Alexis’s exit. This is his launching pad that is setting up a brand new season, a brand new start. Because even if it is a bit too late for this year, and even if we all too often fall of the “next year!” nonsense, there is some level of credibility in it.

It’s hard to deny that Arsenal’s quality has gotten better. Their individual quality is undeniable. All they need is to put the missing pieces together, which they damn well might have with this new formation.
Whatever the case, the likelihood that Alexis actually leaves is so slim that it’s unfathomable how there are people out there saying that he has been guaranteed to leave for a month. Alexis looks as happy as ever and more determined than ever.
And when Arsenal closes out the season with a win and either goes into the Europa League or cruises into the Champions League, Alexis will be here to spearhead the attack next season and he will find the glory he is looking for.

Nothing is sure, obviously. But it is so beyond far-fetched to think that Everton is his last match as a fact. It simply isn’t.
