Stan Kroenke has stated that he is not willing to sell Arsenal football club amid a bid from Alisher Usmanov, screwing every single fan in the process.

Arsenal will not finish in the Champions League qualification positions for the first time in Arsene Wenger’s tenure. It is the result of a season that has been littered with controversy and contempt. Unable to string a run of performances together since the unfortunate and irreplaceable injury to Santi Cazorla, the Gunners slumbered through the remainder of the year with little direction or purpose.

It has been Wenger that has bore the brunt of the criticism from fans, with a growing majority calling for this to be the time that he leaves. While that is a decision that, publicly at least, has not yet been made, it does showcase the vociferous and tempestuous feeling between the fans and the club at this time.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

During Sunday’s season-ending win over Everton, there were many banners calling for the end of the regime – that being Wenger and the ownership – chants wanting either or both to leave and a general feeling of uncertainty and doubt in and around the stadium. And although it is likely that Wenger will stay, if reports are to be believed, the lifetime of Stan Kroenke and his reign is under threat.

Alisher Usmanov, a shareholder in the club who has expressed an interest in trying to become the majority shareholder, taking over from Kroenke, on a number of occasions in the past, has had a bid of £1 billion rejected by the American. A statement from KSE, the organisation that Kroenke manages, read:

"“KSE UK, Inc notes the recent media speculation concerning its shareholding in Arsenal Holdings PLC and confirms its shares are not, and never have been, for sale. KSE is a committed, long-term investor in Arsenal and will remain so.”"

That is far from good news. While many people’s anger may be directed at Wenger and his management, mine is founded on the misguided and disinterested ownership of Kroenke. He does not care for success, for trophies and for titles. He does not care for the club or its heritage or its prestige. He does not care for the fans and for the players and for all the people that are reached, influenced and touched by the club. He simply cares for his wallet.

Kroenke’s ownership is what is killing Arsenal. And now, because it’s enriching the size of his bank balance, he doesn’t want to sell up, no matter how many people he may be screwing as a result.
