With news that Cazorla is now out for at least 5 more months, Arsenal must find a replacement this summer. Corentin Tolisso would be perfect.

Sad news to commence the day for Arsenal. According to Bleacher Report and other sources, Santi Cazorla is now going to miss five more months following another surgery. This is really devastating news for the Spaniard midfielder who has been a real key asset to the club. With this injury, this must spark Arsene Wenger to find someone who can replace the injury prone Santi Cazorla, specifically someone for the long run.

The player I feel that would be perfect for Arsenal is none other than Corentin Tolisso. The young, French central midfielder would be an amazing fit with Arsenal. Wenger is known to bring in numerous talented French players as he is a Frenchman himself, and Tolisso should be added to that list.

Signing Tolisso makes perfect sense. Cazorla out and Wilshere’s future uncertain, Tolisso can fit. Tolisso brings in both defensive talent and offensive talent. In 29 Ligue 1 appearances this season, Tolisso had provided solid numbers. He has eight goals and five assists in league competition, with 13 goals and 7 assists in all competitions.

Tolisso coming in would mean a tremendous amount to the growth of Granit Xhaka. Xhaka is a holding midfielder who can do it all defensively, but Tolisso can expand Xhaka’s talents further. Currently Xhaka is paired up with Aaron Ramsey, who has a similar skill set to Tolisso but struggles with consistency.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Tolisso can be compared to Ramsey, but the potential for Tolisso is sky high, while Ramsey is in his prime still trying to become the player we hope and know he can be. The Xhaka-Ramsey pair is solid especially with the 3-4-3, but imagine a Xhaka-Tolisso combo? Both are not in their prime stages just yet but have the potential to be absolute superstars.

It’s completely up to Wenger if Tolisso were to be the main starter alongside Xhaka, but if that is the case, then Ramsey would serve as one heck of a reserve. And that is what this team needs: depth. Behind Xhaka and Ramsey is Coquelin and Elneny, both who have failed to live up to expectations. A Xhaka-Tolisso partnership makes Ramsey the backup and we know Ramsey can thrive as both a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder (in the 2016 Euros).

Tolisso can be a perfect addition to the squad if Wenger can bring him in at the right price. Do you agree or disagree about signing Tolisso? Let us know!
