Ivan Gazidis wants a united front from Arsenal supporters. This can all be accomplished but it will not be cheap and it won’t be easy.

Ivan Gazidis had himself a nice little question and answer session that was always going to be met with boos and hisses. His claims sounded like delusions of grandeur for Arsenal, even in spite of the promising signs we have seen this summer.

Gazidis wants to win. Of course he does. Because what else would he say. And as I covered earlier today, that ‘united front’ he wants isn’t so much on the supporters as it is on him. Along those lines, the part of this that is on him is not going to be cheap.

How can Arsenal win the title? Simple. You fix all the things that went wrong last year. Which is actually easier than it sounds. The defensive problem is solved with the 3-4-2-1. it is further bolstered by the addition of Sead Kolasinac.

The midfield is pretty much fixed, although we are still walking a fine line with Aaron Ramsey‘s health. Someone else here would be massive. Someone like Corentin Toliss-oh-wait. He’s gone.

The creative hub is set with the two superstars, but if there are any doubts that they can be sustained, then someone else has to be brought in. And I’m not talking about more faith in Alex Iwobi.

Lastly, we need a striker. There is no hiding from that. No matter how much I love to see Olivier Giroud crush people’s hatred, he isn’t enough to win the title with.

The first step is out of the way – identifying the needs.

Now we have to address them, and to their credit, it looks like the Gunners are making a solid effort. They have been snapping at the heels of Alexandre Lacazette, Kylian Mbappe and Thomas Lemar. The former two solve the striker problem, the latter solves the superstar problem.

And now it is said that the Gunners are eyeing up Jean Michael Seri following Roma running and hiding from his £35m release clause.

In case you haven’t noticed, what Gazidis wants won’t be cheap. We are looking at a summer bill of around £130m or more, more than we have ever spent in a single summer. Last summer we flirted with £100m and it almost felt like a crime. Didn’t know we were allowed to spend that much.

But it really isn’t that hard to see what the club needs. And if Gazidis really wants to win, he knows how to do it. It just won’t be cheap. Which apparently isn’t a problem, if you ask the man.
