Arsenal kick off their competitive preseason tour in Australia facing Sydney FC. Here are all the things to watch for, including where to actually watch it.

Well, here we are, at another preseason tour, ready to see how the team lines up for the first time with new faces. Arsenal will be facing Sydney FC to begin their preseason tour that will take them into the new season, which kicks off August 11th.

The squad for the preseason tour is pretty much exactly what you would expect. Most importantly, Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac are both on the tour, meaning that their debuts are mere hours away.

The only glaring absences on the squad list are those few players that we already pretty much knew for certain were going to be sold.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Of course, the Gunners are facing a bit of a defensive crisis, with all but three viable center backs missing due to European competitions and the need for an extended break, which is where Alexis Sanchez also finds himself.

So assuming Arsene Wenger sticks with the 3-4-2-1, which he undoubtedly should, we will be seeing Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal manning the back three. Which is no shortcoming at all, given how well each one showed up in the very position last year. The only real question is going to be who starts in the center of it all.

Of course, Wenger could very well revert back to the 4-2-3-1, especially with Alexis out and this shortage of center backs. Although this formation is not going to be manned well enough as of yet, seeing as how the Gunners depth out wide is abysmal, so it’s a toss up what he will opt for bright and early this Thursday morning.

As far as what to watch for, I don’t think I need to tell you to the two big ones. Kolasinac and Lacazette will both be making their debuts in an Arsenal shirt and I know we are all ecstatic to just see them on the pitch in these new kits.

But that isn’t all that will be on display. Olivier Giroud will likely get the start up front and I am beyond excited to see how he takes to Lacazette’s arrival. He feels he has a lot to prove and this will be his first chance to do so.

And so, without further ado, here are all the ways to watch:
