Arsenal: Ryan Giggs omission more fuel for the fire
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal are apparently not in the title race, according to Ryan Giggs, which is all the more reason to believe that they are.
One thing I have come to learn about the talking heads on the TV is that all they can do is base their statements off of past performances. They have no ability to predict what is going to happen going forward because those predictions are based on the past. And that is one reason why I love when Arsenal gets no attention.

It’s true that the top of the Premier League table is more competitive than it has been in recent years. Where once there were three or four teams, there are now six. Maybe seven if you’re really kind to Everton.
But according to Ryan Giggs, there are only five, and Arsenal is not one of them. Liverpool apparently isn’t either.
According to Giggs, the team to beat is Manchester City and, of course, he has said that there will be so much change within his former club of Manchester United as well. Do you smell the bias? Because I certainly do.
United added Romelu Lukaku. That’s solid. They added Lindelof, which is intriguing, but what exactly is going to be the game-changer for Mourinho’s underwhelming squad? Is Paul Pogba going to get over himself long enough to actually do something productive? Same can be asked of Lukaku.

Sir Alex Ferguson used to avoid talking about the team he was most worried about and I wonder if Giggs has purposely left out Arsenal because when you get down to it, Arsenal has addressed every single one of their needs in the past two transfer windows. On paper, they don’t have a weakness. And I’ll happily debate anyone that says they do.
Moreso than City has, with spending another £100m on a defense that, let’s be honest here, sucks. They couldn’t figure out who to start on that back line and it turned into a tragic game of musical chairs where no one won.
Sure, Chelsea is in that conversation, but if City is the team to beat and United is ‘so much improved’ when they’ve only done the exact same thing they did last year, then why is Arsenal being ignored when their improvements have been the best of any team this summer?
I may sound irritated, but as I mentioned, continue to underestimate the Gunners. Please. Who listened to the predictions before the FA Cup final to Chelsea? I can count the number of ‘experts’ who picked the Gunners on one finger and I wouldn’t even need that one finger.

They underestimated the Gunners and they were all wrong. And of course, no one held them accountable, so here we are again, with everyone underestimating the Gunners.
