So much of Arsenal’s pursuit of Thomas Lemar has been about pure, uncited speculation, but now we have another rare boost with nothing of the sort.

Arsenal has spent the better parts of the last month tied to Thomas Lemar. Bids and rumors of bids have dominated the transfer airwaves as nothing else happened around it. The club compiled players that needed to be sold and Lemar continued to remain dead silent about the whole ordeal.

Through it all, all of the ‘boosts’ that we received were purely speculative. Other than a photo with some Arsenal fans, there wasn’t much to talk about. That is, until Leonardo Jardim admitted that Lemar would leave, more or less.

Those have been the only reliable boosts. Even Wenger admitting he was interested in Lemar felt like more of a nod towards the player than towards any sort of deal.

But now we have something more. We have a training ground bust up at Monaco that left Lemar shaken, as he exited training early.

According the reports (reliable reports) there was a spat between Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho, two players who have been the subject of intense transfer speculation and two players who have been dubbed ‘essential’ to Monaco along with Lemar.

However, Mbappe has been on the brink of a massive money move to Real Madrid for quite some time now.

We don’t even need to speculate what the bust-up was about because it doesn’t really matter. What matters is that Lemar walked out of training to get away from this and this undoubtedly adds a bit of fuel to the transfer rumor fire.

I think back to all the spats Adrien Rabiot publicly had with PSG and how these spats led to him declaring his desire to move. While it never happened, it certainly made things a hell of a lot more real and that exact thing is happening to Lemar now.

Training ground bust ups happen all the time. These are serious professionals that can be set off ay number of ways. But the fact that Lemar left training because of it is what I am focusing on. He didn’t want to be a part of it and if I was Arsene Wenger, I’d be ringing him again tell that at Arsenal, he won’t be.
