Arsenal: Jack Wilshere preaching to the choir after red card
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal’s golden boy Jack Wilshere saw red for downing a Manchester City teenager, but his comments afterwards are fuel for the fire.
Arsenal will always wonder what could have happened if Jack Wilshere had been blessed with better fortune in the injury department, but for now, all we can do is look forward.

And Wilshere is apparently doing the same thing, as he has made some pretty amazing comments after seeing red for headbutting and downing Manchester City teenager Matthew Smith while suiting up with the U23s.
Here’s what he had to say, as quoted by ESPNFC:
"Well, that was eventful… felt good to be back on the pitch at the Emirates even though it ended earlier than I thought. My passion and my hunger is back, buzzing for more games."
While some have been outspokenly negative towards Wilshere’s red card, I for one have seen it as a positive for one simple fact, a fact that he has just pointed out himself – he’s back. The passion is back, the hunger is back. Jack is back. And any time he is healthy and raring to go, the possibilities are limitless.
For the past several years, the number one problem that the Gunners have had is a seeming lack of hunger and passion. Alexis Sanchez has pointed it out and fans can see it as plain as day. So for Wilshere to target that specific lack as what he has in abundance, as the title of this articles suggests, he’s just preaching to the choir.

Which is just another reason why we need him back. Right now.
Wilshere has always had the fire and the passion to power the team, but there’s no hiding that constant injuries can drain that from you. From anyone. Even someone as driven as Jack Wilshere. So to hear him asserting (and showing) that every ounce of his hunger is back and ready for more, well, that has to be seen as a positive.
Even if it leads to headbutting like this.
As you already know, this red card will keep Wilshere suspended for three games at the U23 level. But that does not factor into the senior team. Meaning that if Arsene Wenger was feeling saucy (isn’t he always?!) he could give the Englishman a call up to the senior team and let him strut about the pitch a bit.
Which, to me, sounds like the greatest idea in the world. Especially considering the need for some impact subs, seeing as how only Olivier Giroud seems capable of doing anything late in the match.

Wilshere can still be a huge part of this club. It sounds crazy to get our hopes up again, but if Jack is headbutting people, then I’m buying his determination.
