Deep midfield

CM. Arsenal. ALEX IWOBI. 7.2. Another guy who didn’t belong where he was put. Vacated the central midfield to leave Elneny alone and became our third attacking midfielder. Every so often we get a wondrous glimpse of that driving Iwobi that is so inspiring to see and we saw more of that later when the 4-4-2 was enacted.

7.9. Mohamed Elneny was put into an impossible situation. He was the only central midfielder and somehow he did okay as the team crumbled around him. He provided the biggest threat going forward and was the best defender. I don’t know how he did it. I’m pretty sure there were three of him out there, which was convenient because Walcott and Holding were both detrimental to the squad. He struggled in the second half, but with how much he did in the first half, I’ll spare him from being criticized.. CM. Arsenal. MOHAMED ELNENY

Rounding it out, next up are attackers.
