Arsenal’s record signing Alexandre Lacazette has a bromance with Corentin Tolisso, but it’s time to give that up and focus on another bro, for the good of the club.

When Arsenal’s new striker Alexandre Lacazette scored against Everton, he didn’t do his regular celebration. He did something else entirely. Similarly, if you watched the Bayern Munich match that same weekend, you might have wondered why Corentin Tolisso was doing Lacazette’s celebration when he scored for the German giants.

Lacazette and Tolisso paid homage to each other and their bro-tastic days at Lyon by borrowing each other’s goal celebration and using it to show how they are still such good pals.

There was a time when both Tolisso and Lacazette seemed destined to come to Arsenal, but the latter obviously never made that switch. To think how he could have beefed up an often shallow midfielder at the Emirates is enough to make you grind your teeth, but what’s done is done.

It’s fun to see them doing this. Their pals. Enjoy. But maybe Lacazette can rekindle another bromance he had at Lyon – with Nabil Fekir.

No one can tell what’s to come, but you don’t have to have the gift of foresight to know that Alexis Sanchez is leaving the club. Mesut Ozil doesn’t seem like he’s destined to stay either, though his is less certain.

Creative attackers will be needed, and we know that Wenger isn’t one for headline-busting deals for the best players in the world. He is much more keen on snagging and up and comer and letting them blossom in the Arsenal attack.

Hence, Nabil Fekir. The 24-year-old French attacker has always been pegged as one of the best young prospects in the world, but injuries have hindered him.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

The Gunners can relate.

Now though, he is back at full health and he is taking care to remind the world that, injuries be damned, he’s still exactly who they said he was.

The man has seven goals and four assists in just 810 Ligue 1 minutes. It’s a sick tally that, even if that ended up being his season tally, would still be looked at with a nod of approval. He is doing some amazing things this year and looks on pace to break his personal best – his breakout 2014/15 campaign. He managed 13 goals and nine assists that year.

Arsenal will need players that can do both create and finish and Fekir is one of the few who may be ready to step up to the next level right away. Plus he will have that added impetus of wanting to prove himself at the top level. Any added impetus on this Arsenal side should be seen as an added bonus.

This is why I want Lacazette to borrow Fekir’s celebration. Subtle things. Maybe send him a fruit basket. Anything helps.
