Arsenal: Mid-Season player rankings
12. Olivier Giroud
Poor, poor Olivier Giroud. He is Arsenal through and through and no amount of time spent on the bench is going to change that. He just really wants to be with this club and he really wants to help them lift a trophy or two, as he has already done.

Giroud being so mediocre on this list is a result of his lack of opportunities. Keep in mind he saved us from a draw against Leicester City opening day, he scored a wild bicycle to save points against Red Star Belgrade and he scored another in the back-and-forth against BATE Borisov. That’s three goals in 500 minutes, not including his two appearances in the League Cup.
The goal ratio isn’t there for Giroud, but again, how much can you really pin on him? He is playing for the youth team + Jack Wilshere and if he can’t get service for the youth side, he sure as hell isn’t going to get any with the rotational side.
He hasn’t been given a fair chance, and that’s a shame. Maybe this will change later on in the season.
