Arsenal: Jack Wilshere’s long-awaited chance has finally come
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal will again be without Mesut Ozil when they take on Huddersfield Town, which means that Jack Wilshere will finally get the chance he deserves.
Arsenal were shockingly without Mesut Ozil against Burnley. According to Arsene Wenger, the doctor indicated that Ozil had to leave that morning, as he had traveled with the club and was set to take part in the match.

Wenger said that this also means that Ozil will be missing for the Wednesday clash with Huddersfield Town, which can mean one of two things, but it better only mean the one we all want to see.
Either Wenger can think himself into a corner, via pushing Aaron Ramsey into Ozil’s role and moving one of the rotational defensive midfielders in behind (assuming Ramsey is healthy). Or he could start Alex Iwobi on short rest after seeing him struggle considerably against Burnley, despite always having the right intentions.
Or – and this is the big or, because if it is anything except this ‘or’ then we have cause to revolt – he can stick to what is right and fair and just and let Jack Wilshere finally start at long last, nestled in behind the striker.
We’ve been waiting an awfully long time to see Wilshere start in the Premier League. His midweek fixtures in the League Cup and Europa League have been positive, but without the right supporting cast, Wilshere is a product of his circumstances.

Huddersfield has to be it. Not least of all because it is the absolute perfect opportunity for his playing style. Given that it will take place at the Emirates, Wilshere will be in front of a home crowd alongside an impassioned club, as they always tend to be at the Emirates.
Plus, Huddersfield is not a team that is going to play for a draw. They haven’t done much of that this year. They have prided themselves on going toe-to-toe with whoever they face and, for then most part, it has worked out remarkably well. They are sitting in a cozy 11th place.
This is the type of team that Wilshere can have his day against. And by his day, I mean the kind of day that shows everyone that he is ready to play at this level and that he should absolutely be considered on a daily basis.

Of course, what happens after he bags a brace and Ozil returns from injury is anyone’s guess, but let’s go ahead and bag the brace first.
