Arsene Wenger has often been accused of lacking ambition with Arsenal, but his metaphorical kicking of Mauricio Pochettino’s teeth says otherwise.

Arsenal’s current position is not flattering to their potential to win that elusive Premier League title. They’ve waited a heck of a long time to get to their winning ways, but unlike clubs like, say Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur, it’s in recent memory. Which makes the fans even more voracious to get back to the top.

Arsene Wenger has been accused of being the problem with the Gunners inability to get to the top because of his supposed lack of ambition. That argument mostly hinges on his spending habits or his tactics on the pitch.

This requires a good deal of action to disprove, but one good way to kick-start that action is to speak out about ambition, and Wenger has done that in a big way. It’s like one of those wonderful times where Wenger says something that every single Gooner can get behind.

The best part is that it was spoken out against Maurico Pochettino, the maligned manager of can’t-win-anything Tottenham.

Before I get any further, here’s what our beloved Le Prof had to say in regards to Pochettino’s confession of Tottenham being out of the title race.

“I am not Pochettino, I am Arsene Wenger,” he said, as quoted by Goal.com. “I am here to fight as long as I can, as long as mathematically it’s possible you have to fight, you cannot give any other message out.”

I absolutely love this, and you do too, even if you don’t know it yet. You want to talk about the levels between Pochettino and Wenger and how one is unproven and the other is a legend, you can’t get much better than that.

While Tottenham are busy preparing for next year and licking their wounds, Arsenal, according to Arsene Wenger, will be driving and pushing to make themselves as relevant as possible in a title race that already has “top tier” teams backing out of the race.

It’s just delicious. It’s a classy kick in the teeth. It’s what separates the greats from the wannabes. Just in case we needed any further proof which team was real, seeing as how losing to the Gunners and reaffirming the red tint of North London apparently broke the lesser part of the city.

I just hope that Pochettino has to revisit this at some point in the future. Because that would be even more delicious.
