Full-Backs

Arsenal. AINSLEY MAITLAND-NILES. 7.3. Did a fantastic job shutting down Mo Salah who did not have a great game. He did not fall for Salah’s games, he was not shaken off and he actually won the ball off the Egyptian more timesthan not. It’s still clear that Maitland-Niles is far from a leftback, and he gets caught out of position quite easily, but in the end, his problems were far fewer than many others. So there is a certain pride to find in that.. LB

RB. Arsenal. HECTOR BELLERIN. 5.8. Saved himself with that superb assist to Alexis. Other than that, he just did not showcase much on the day. Really struggled with the flow of the game and was guilty of taking it too slow far too often. Was even worse when it came to defending Sadio Mane, who hosted him more than once. In the spirit of not letting one good pass heavily-influence an entire player rating, I have to be harsh on Bellerin here. It was an awful performance.
