Arsenal’s ongoing contract sagas are still weighing the club down, but among all of this, why is Jack Wilshere being treated the same as the rest?
Arsenal’s contract sagas with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil suck. They show a complete disregard for the frailty of the club, both from the two superstars’ standpoint and from Arsene Wenger’s (or whoever is dealing with it, if anyone) standpoint.
To be in the situation that we are in now is absolutely pathetic. This is a top tier, world class club run by what are supposed to be some of the best minds in football. The successes of this club are up there with the best in the world of football.
Yet two guys are sucking the life force out of the club, and are being allowed to, because nobody can make a damn decision.

Alexis may finally be leaving, that’s great. Goodbye. Mesut Ozil is still a question mark over his future, that’s a bummer. But buried in the middle is Jack Wilshere, who just revealed this about himself, something we all probably already knew. Have a read (as quoted by Sky Sports):
"I want to be Arsenal captain. I really enjoyed the other night, it was my first start as captain and walking the boys out was a special feeling for me and my family so that is something that I want to do. I never really stopped dreaming about that."
The man’s dream, after so many years with the club, is just to grow within the club. Yet you are letting this lad walk to the edge of his contract the same as the mercenaries that are draining the club of confidence.

It’s a complete horror show. Against Bournemouth, in that atrocious debacle of a match, who was the only positive, individual influence on the day, capable of turning things around and determined to do so? It was Wilshere. While Alexis was packing his bags and riding his dogs like horses through downtown London. While Mesut Ozil’s phantom injuries continue to take him out of the club when we need him most, Wilshere was in the thick of it, trying harder than anyone and succeeding more times than not.
Yet we are still here taking Arsene Wenger’s word for it that he believes Wilshere will stay. Wenger has lied before. Often, in fact, and I hate to point that out. Give this guy, one of the few guys who actually wants to be at this club for the long haul, a contract and build around that. Otherwise we will continue to fall into the same stupid predicaments that we are always falling into.

That will always be the case. Get rid of Wenger, fine. But so long as Stan Kroenke is here, the only heroes we have are the guys that love the club and want to be here. Right now, that is Jack Wilshere and few others.
