Arsenal: What can Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bring to the table?
By Rory Picton
Every player at Arsenal brings something different to the table in ways of skills and attitude but what can Pierre Emerick Aubameyang bring to the table?
Imagine this: Arsene Wenger is sitting down to a nice meal at the Arsenal table. Alexandre Lacazette brings pace and lethality to the meal, while Olivier Giroud brings power and height. What then does Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bring?
With all jokes aside, it looks as if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is heading to North London to link up with Arsenal as they look to soften the blow from Alexis Sanchez. Is this a good transfer for the London outfit or will he end up being a flop?
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Borussia Dortmund from Saint Etienne. Aubameyang never made an appearance for Milan, his parent club before being sold to Saint-Etienne in 2011.

In that time with Milan, he was loaned out 4 times. First was Dijon where he featured 34 times netting eight goals, then came Lille appearing 14 times netting two. Then came Monaco and Saint-Etienne, the latter signing him on permanently in 2011. Aubameyang went on to score 37 times in 87 appearances for Saint-Etienne.
In summer 2013 Borussia Dortmund made a move for Aubameyang. In the five years since signing for Dortmund, he has gone on to make 143 appearances for Dortmund (as of the writing of this article). He has scored an impressive 98 goals in all competitions for Dortmund and established himself as a marksman, a lethal poacher.
What can Aubameyang bring to Arsenal?
Aubameyang would bring plenty of goals to the Emirates. He would also link up with an old friend in Henrikh Mkhitaryan. With both Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil behind him, you can count on plenty of chances for the Gabonese hitman.

Aubameyang is blessed with searing pace and agility, with the strength and power to match. Standing at 1.88 meters, he can also play as a target man. but would look better as a “run the channels” kind of player. He is almost a mix between Alexandre Lacazette and Olivier Giroud.
With a reported price tag set at £60 million, you can only imagine how highly Dortmund rate his finishing ability.
There are rumors circulating that Olivier Giroud is moving to Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season or on a permanent basis. Losing Arsenal’s “plan B” would be a huge loss but, would be a nice capture for the German outfit.
With all this transfer speculation finally dying down after the Alexis Sanchez debacle, fans and pundits can finally see the other rumors circulating.
