2. It’s the same old problems

Arsene Wenger is now the problem. I love him. I have great respect for him, but anyone who does not recognise that is blind to his shortcomings. And here is the proof.

Since January 2017, Arsenal have played 23 away games. They have won seven, drawn five, and lost 11, with a goal difference of -7 and a points-per-game of just 1.13, which would give them, if extrapolated for a full season, a league points tally of 42.9 points. This season, they won just three games on their travels. The last time they had won so few away games at this point in the year was 2005/06.

Additionally, Arsenal have dropped 15 points from winning positions this campaign. Only Watford, with 16 points, have dropped more. They have now conceded 34 goals this season. That is more than West Brom, who are bottom of the Premier League. Arsenal are now closer to the bottom of the table than they are the top: 22 points above West Brom; 23 points behind Manchester City. Manchester City have a game in hand. When in the world will it end?
