Arsenal host Manchester City just four days after their Carabao Cup final tilt. Here’s all the information you need to know about how to tune in.

Despite all of the furore surrounding Arsenal football at this current time, they haven’t actually played a Premier League game since the North London derby nearly three weeks ago. I’m fairly sure that they’d be happy to not play this one for another three weeks.

This time, it is Manchester City who come to the Emirates, fresh from dispatching the Gunners in depressingly comfortable style in the Carabao Cup final at the weekend. It is extremely odd to play the same team twice in such close proximity. Usually, no two teams would play more than two games against each other in a whole season, nevermind in just four days. But here we are.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

And that changes things quite substantially, especially given the nature of the loss. Many of the Arsenal players were lambasted for their performance on Sunday. And rightly so. They were utterly abject. But that will surely have an effect on their mental state for the return fixture. These are humans, after all, and while they may often present themselves as superheroes, underneath, they have the same doubts and insecurities as anyone else.

I will be acutely interested to see how those most painfully vilified for their performance play. Granit Xhaka. Shkodran Mustafi. Aaron Ramsey. Mesut Ozil. These are the players that have bared the brunt of the critique. Can they now turn that criticism into a fuel, or will it engulf them, leaving them without any motivation and effort?

There is also the tactical battle between the two managers to watch for.

Arsene Wenger surprised a few people by shifting to a back-three against City at the weekend. Does he do the same again? How does he incorporate Henrikh Mkhitaryan who was cup-tied? Does he risk the fitness of Aaron Ramsey again?

These are all questions that are sure to have a significant impact on the match. Additionally, given City’s dominance this year, do they grow a little complacent? In all reality, they can lose this fixture and still waltz to the title without too much trouble. Might they just take their foot off the gas that little bit? I doubt it, but stranger things have certainly happened.

This is one of the more intriguing fixtures of the season, and for reasons different to the norm. The context of having just played against one another, the uncertainty surrounding the club, the tactical changes of Wenger. I guess we’ll just to wait and see. Anyway, here’s all the information you need to know.
