Arsenal: Ousmane Dembele the better of the best possibilities
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal have a lot of players they are being linked to, but in terms of the copious amount of wide options, Ousmane Demebele is the best of the best.
Arsenal will always be linked with far too many unbelievable transfer targets, most of whom the club have no chance of signing. But then again, wasn’t Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang an impossible target until the club proved that transfers were going to be done differently this year?
And speaking of Sven Mislintat’s brain child at Borussia Dortmund, let’s talk about another – Ousmane Dembele.
Apparently, the Gunners are keen to put together all the pieces that Dortmund was unable to hold onto given their somewhat lesser stature in the world of football. They brought in Mislintat to be a major part of their recruitment process and, in turn, are using him instead to recruit all the players he already recruited once.

I’m not one to complain. It got us Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang, who are going to shake things up here at the Emirates.
And now, he’s making the impossibility of Ousmane Dembele look like a very realistic possibility. Amazing how one small shift in the power structure can change things up.

When Dembele touched down at Borussia Dortmund, it was clear that the German club, i.e. Mislintat, had done it again. They had found another immensely talented teenager that fit into their marauding attacking scheme.

In just one year with Dortmund, Dembele put up eight goals and 18 assists playing primarily from wide attacking areas and using his rampaging speed to run the Bundesliga into the ground.
That earned him a ticket to Barcelona, supposedly the pinnacle of world football, where the 20 year old was supposed to hit his peak. Only he hasn’t. He has struggled with consistency, become disenchanted, and is now, according to reports, seeking his third move in as many years.
As has been the case in nearly every transfer made this calendar year, the tie to Dembele fulfills one of our new requirements – he has a connection to Aubameyang. Dembele and Aubameyang forged a strong partnership two seasons ago at Dortmund, and, if Dembele is cool, maybe Aubameyang can introduce him to his other mate, Mkhitaryan.
It might be a bit excessive, piling on the Dortmund products, but why should we care? We have truly picked and chosen the best of the best and if Dembele comes as well, the best of the best gets even better.

History aside, Dembele is a tremendous talent and if there is any hesitation in him that he is being wasted, then reforging the bond with Aubameyang is going to be, to borrow a Wenger-ism, “like paradise.”
