Arsenal and Jack Wilshere have still not agreed on a new contract, but no matter what, this man has to be prolonged, without question.

Arsenal‘s Jack Wilshere has been in negotiations with the club for some time now. With no progress being made, it’s easy to see that maybe he won’t be signing anything come the end of his contract.

Other clubs from abroad are finally showing interest in the midfielder, Juventus and Real Betis are said to be two clubs interested. Domestic clubs may be more appealing to Wilshere, though, and Everton is trying their hand at it. Sam Allardyce is said to have offered the English international a £8 million signing on fee.

Wilshere has been at Arsenal since the age of nine. He has risen through the ranks and shown the fans how good he really can be.

He grew up as a Gooner and loves the club. Any player that supports the club as much as he does deserves a fair contract. He wants to stay at his home and he has his family living in London so it would only make sense.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

The Board is scared to give Wilshere the contract he wants because of his injury record, which is quite extensive. They are offering a pay-as-you-play alternative. In my eyes, this is alright from a financial point of view, but when you’ve just broken your transfer record twice in one year, you should be able to afford anything he wants.

According to reports he only wants £110 thousand a week, which when looking at the Arsenal wage structure, isn’t too much. If Mesut Ozil can make £300K plus, why can’t Wilshere be just a third of that? He has proven himself many times this season.

Without Wilshere at the club, they lose a franchise type player. A franchise player is someone like Gianluigi Donnarumma for AC Milan or Marcus Rashford for Manchester United. Someone you could build a team around. He was supposed to be our creator in midfield after the departure of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona. But as we’ve found out this season he can play many roles on the pitch, either as a deep-lying playmaker or as a forward off the striker.

Losing someone of his quality could be devastating to this club and its fan base. Wilshere has been a part of this family for over 17 years and that’s loyalty. They need to take another gamble on him even if it means splashing out the cash. Jack Wilshere is Arsenal.
