Arsenal have so many choices for their next manager. The entire world is open. So why would they “settle” for Eddie Howe? This is why.
Arsenal’s next manager is a question that everyone has an answer to, and if you ask 100 people, you’ll probably get about 30 different answers, some more popular than others.
One that has not been as popular is Eddie Howe. The young English manager has had an up-and-down tenure at Bournemouth, keeping them safe from relegation and putting up some really impressive battles, despite suffering some disappointing defeats.
Steve McClaren, however, believes that Howe would be perfect for the Gunners because he is “part of the next era” of managers in England.

While Howe is certainly not my first choice (Patrick Vieira!), I see a tremendous amount of reasons why it is such a good idea. And, similarly, why I would take him over Carlo Ancelloti. His credentials are nowhere near Ancelloti’s, but the Gunners need someone to dig in and be the next long-term manager. I keep saying this, but the last thing they want is to jump in on the managerial roulette.
It’s not a fun game.

Howe is young, brimming with potential, and could make a hell of a lot more out of a team when he has more resources afford him. There may be some growing pains, as there often are with any new manager, but Howe does fit into the “new brand” of managers that really needs to happen.
Look at what is happening in the Bundesliga, a league that is always willing to innovate and try new things. They are introducing a new trend of trusting young, inexperienced managers to inject life into old tactics and principles.
The Premier League is a league deeply embedded in custom. That’s why the same managers rotate into the same jobs over and over again. No team is willing to take a chance and shake things up.
Arsenal has done it once before when they signed Arsene Wenger in the first place. It worked out rather well, as they changed the entire league.
Howe likely wouldn’t be quite that influential, but give a young, ambitious man the keys to a new career and more often than not, he goes at it with a vigor not seen from managers who have been around the block, won just about everything, and never had any sort of allegiance.

That’s what this team needs right? They need passion, not a resume. We have a resume. One of the best in the world. They don’t need to be told how to win, they know how to win. They need to be fired to that win. We need drive, we need fire, and Howe would provide that.
