Arsenal: Isco is just teasing us now
My dream Arsenal target, Isco, has dropped heavy hints of his unhappiness at Real Madrid, yielding wild speculation of a possible departure. He is just teasing all of us now.
If you have listened to the latest episode of the Pain in the Arsenal podcast — you can check it out at the link just below or by clicking through the highlighted text — then you will have heard Josh speak on the player that he most wants to see at the Emirates this summer. It is a player that I also extolled the need to abandon sensibility for in this piece. I am, of course, talking about Isco.

The Real Madrid midfielder has been linked with an Arsenal move in the past, especially during his more testing times at Bernabeu when he has found playing time hard to come by, and he is now rumoured to want an exit from the Spanish giants.

In fact, it might not be a rumour anymore. While Isco did not explicitly say ‘I want to leave Real Madrid’, his comments certainly reveal a despair and frustration at the current goings-on at the club. Here is what he said when asked about his disparaging form between club and country:
"“I have the confidence of the coach [Julen Lopetegui] and maybe in Madrid, I have not won that yet. That’s why the national team is so important for me as it gives me life. If I am not starting and don’t have continuity for my club then I must seize all my chances. I aim to be a starter for both my club and international team but the only way I can do that is to keep working hard. There are many great players at Real Madrid, maybe I am the problem.”"
The comments after he scored a terrific hat-trick as Spain brilliantly dismantled a Lionel Messi-less Argentina on Tuesday night — Watch out for the Spaniards in the World Cup. It was a brilliant performance by Isco, one that would have made many a club stand up and listen to his post-match interview.
At this point, as a hopelessly salivating fan, Isco speaking of unrest at Madrid only makes my heart flutter. Even though I know a move will never actually happen — there are more than enough clubs interested in Isco so that the Gunners rather quickly become quite an unattractive destination — I can’t stop myself from dreaming that it might.

Isco, then, is just teasing all of us, myself especially. And that is just horrible.
