According to Sky Sports Germany Thomas Tuchel has snubbed Bayern Munich in favor of a move to Arsenal, but is the German any different from Arsene Wenger?

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Thomas Tuchel has already agreed terms with Arsenal. Has he really though? Probably not. Agent talk is an issue that is becoming ever more apparent in football every day.

With this statement came an overwhelming wave of positives and negatives. “Anything is better than Wenger!” cry the desperate-for-change Arsenal fans that just want Wenger out.

Let’s talk Tuchel.

Positives

There are not many positives that can be associated with the arrival of Tuchel. Arsenal needs a polar opposite man to Wenger to move forward. An outspoken, mean and strict coach would do them a world of good.

With that being said there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Tuchel would get along great with all the players and all the fans, unlike Wenger. Not only is he a typical Arsenal man in that aspect, but he also is a firm believer in raising youngsters to stardom.

Players like Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock would thrive under the management of Tuchel. What about the players like Mesut Ozil or Alexandre Lacazette? Players that appear as if they need a foot up the arse?

Negatives (Toothless Tuchel)

The negatives certainly outweigh the positives. When one arrives at Arsenal’s training ground, there might as well be a sign that says “Safe Place.”

Chewing out players individually is an aspect of coaching that is falling through the cracks and escaping modern day football, especially at Arsenal. Tuchel wouldn’t change that factor because he epitomizes the stereotypical modern-day manger. A yes-man, supportive, soft spoken and an overall fun manger to play for.

Arsenal fans don’t want fun though, we want titles. Managers like Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho don’t try to be best friends with the players on their team. A relationship between a player and manager should be based strictly off of what goes on during a match or during training. A change is undoubtedly needed, but a manager like Tuchel is simply not the right man for the job.

The Gunners are rumored with an abundance of managers that could all take us to the next level. Managers like Massimilliano Allegri or Carlo Ancelotti would be ideal replacements. The likes of Ancelotti and Allegri would not only steady the ship but be able to attract players and bring the gunners to the place in the table in which they belong, the top.
