Arsenal: Aaron Ramsey career comes full circle against Stoke City
By LTArsenal
Aaron Ramsey has recovered from a career threatening injury to become one of the best midfielders in the country. It’s all come full circle.
Aaron Ramsey is class, both as a player and as a person. His story with Arsenal is inspirational, the way he bounced back from a career threatening injury to become one of the best midfielders in the country are what dreams are made off.
I still remember that night at Stoke, where a teenage Ramsey broke his tibia and fibula after an awful challenge by Ryan Shawcross. He was in so much pain that he fell unconscious and had to be carried off on a stretcher with an oxygen mask.
It is very difficult recovering from such an injury. Initially, it was uncertain if he would ever play football again. But then, he battled his way through and returned. He was far from his best initially. He used to take too long on the ball and was scared to move in to tackle. It’s obviously rather tough to play at that level after such an injury, both psychologically and physically.

Then, after coming under heavy criticism from certain sections of the Arsenal faithful and a certain British celebrity, Ramsey began showing superb form in the beginning of 2013, ending the 2012/13 season on a high.

The 2013/14 season was his best and he really showed the entire world of football the ability he possessed. He scored the FA Cup final winning goal, to break the club’s nine years trophy drought.
He always played wherever he was asked to without any sort of fuss. Many a time he has been shifted out wide to the right, an unnatural position for a box-to-box midfielder but has still filled in admirably well.
Time after time, he puts in a shift and gets nowhere near the recognition that he deserves. He scored another FA Cup final winner for Arsenal in 2017, against Chelsea running away from Kante to head home. He started all three of Arsenal’s FA Cup finals winning them both.
Ramsey steps up whenever needed. He is the complete footballer. He is the epitome of sheer will power. To recover from that type of injury and become one of the best midfielders around deserves praise.
