Arsenal’s meaningless Premier League campaign goes forth against Southampton. Here are all the match facts and how to watch the action.

Perhaps “meaningless” isn’t the most applicable word to describe Arsenal’s remaining Premier League fixtures, because there is still a significant amount of pride to be scavenged and Chelsea are still reachable, which would be a consolation prize worth winning.

Besides that, the Premier League has become the proving ground for Gunners youngsters, namely Calum Chambers, who has been excelling at centerback and staking his claim on a more regular spot in that starting XI.

It may also start to become the proving grounds for more youngsters like Reiss Nelson or Eddie Nketiah, who are desperate to prove themselves ahead of the summer months. We didn’t get to see them against Stoke because of the need to get senior players some minutes before the CSKA Moscow tie, but this time around should be different, as there weren’t two weeks off prior to.

Going into the match against lowly Southampton, who are trying to stave off relegation, we should be expecting a good deal of rotation. Not least of all because Henrikh Mkhitaryan has picked up an injury and will be out for the match.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

David Ospina will be out as well with his recent knock. Meanings it’s either double-duty for Petr Cech or we get to see young Matt Macey give it a go between the sticks.

It will be interesting to see what Arsene Wenger goes with. I’d be surprised to see many of the players that will be expected to hold off CSKA Moscow in Russia, but then again, there is still some kind of faint belief that this club can make a go of the top four (I’m not buying it).

On the Southampton side of things, there are no injuries or suspensions. They will have their complete compliment of characters. Who worries me? Charlie Austin. Because Charlie Austin always worries me. The man is a poacher extraordinaire and it depends on which Gunners defense is employed/shows up.

Anyway, enough jabber. Here are the match facts and how to watch:
