Arsenal fans have been put through the wringer in recent months with results and player performances at an all-time low. The attendance is worth it.

Arsenal’s poor form this season has been among the worst in recent memory, and fans are clearly not getting what they’ve wanted. It has led to fan protests, signs, and banners, as well as people just not showing up to support the team.

Combine all of this and you have a toxic atmosphere where anything could pop off at a moments’ notice. Fans need to be heard and they’re doing it in the right and responsible ways.

This season has been a bust for the Gunners in terms of domestic football. Fans have taken to all sorts of social media and websites to vent their anger and frustrations with team performance. All of this is a result of poor results and managerial decisions.

We can ask all the “what ifs”. Like what if Arsenal signed a proper defender or what if they changed managers in the summer? Could all of this be avoided? Possibly, but we are where we are and we need to accept that.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Dropping out of the FA Cup in January against Nottingham Forest was probably the biggest blow, as Arsenal have won it three times in the last four years. But losing to Manchester City in Carabao Cup final by as much as we did was perhaps the final nail in the coffin. Fans took to social media to blast the team’s performance, how the players didn’t play for the badge and were only out there for the paychecks. The fans demand the best out of our players and when they see that a player isn’t giving it his all for the club they will be sure to let them know.

The fans feel if they don’t show up to games and stay home, the board will take notice and change things up. I really hope they change things up because I miss the atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium.

With all the empty seats it creates an almost dead atmosphere, something that the players and coaches can feel mentally.  The players need the fans behind them because that’s who they’re there to entertain. If the board were to take Arsene Wenger out of the picture and move him upstairs, could that be enough to get the fans back?

The fans are right and should continue to vent and show their frustrations as they have every right to. The board and coaches need to take notice, to make some much-needed changes. The fans need to make noise show the club that this is unacceptable from a “big six” side, Arsenal needs to fight for the title, not for the Europa League.
