Arsenal has shown impressive form at home this season but the fans must raise the intensity against Atletico Madrid. Anfield’s raucous atmosphere is a good example of what is required on Thursday.

Arsenal have the chance to put a positive spin on the end of this season and, in fact, Arsene Wenger’s 22-year reign at the club, by advancing and ultimately winning the Europa League.

To do so, however, the Gunners will have to get past a truly elite European outfit in the form of Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid. Arsenal has the players to go toe to toe with the Spanish giants but the North London side will need to be at their very best.

In order to reach that pinnacle, supporters will have to be at their most intimidating.

The Gunners have claimed the second most points at home in the Premier League this season behind champions Manchester City. With 14 wins 2 draws and 2 losses, the Emirates has been somewhat of a fortress.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Considering the fact that the stadium has been conspicuously empty for most of the season, the club’s form at the Emirates has been one of the only bright spots in a deeply disappointing season.

The Gunners best chance of advancing to the final in Lyon on May 16, is by making a major statement on Thursday at home. The Gunners are yet to claim a point away from home in 2018 and they will be hard-pressed to find one at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Now that Arsene Wenger has announced that he will step down at the end of the season, fans need to galvanize and lift the team to another level. Fans need only look at their top 6 rivals Liverpool for a perfect example of fan power.

This season has been a testament to the power of Scouser pride. There is no doubt that the squad’s success on the pitch has coaxed huge engagement in the stands. However, the dynamic atmosphere at Anfield has been a major boon for the players this season as well.
