When Arsenal look back at the 2017-18 season, they will rue many things. But one thing still remains a positive: The starlets that Arsene Wenger nurtured.

After almost 22 years at the club, Arsenal are getting ready for life after Arsene Wenger. During his time at the club, Wenger has been instrumental in developing many youngsters who would go on to be world class. While Thierry Henry would undoubtedly be the crown jewel among Wenger’s youth projects, the likes of Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and Kolo Toure are also part of that formidable list. One of the questions that remain is whether Wenger’s current youth prospects will have a future under the new gaffer.

Reiss Nelson (England)

Total Appearances – 16

Positions Played – RB, RW

Debut Season – 2017-18

One of the hottest prospects to come out of the Arsenal Academy, Reiss Nelson has enthralled with speed and trickery. While he has been entertaining as an out and out winger, Wenger largely deployed him from the right-back position. Maybe the only gripe in an otherwise decent debut season is the lack of goals or assists, especially for a player who has a reputation as a chance creator at youth level, but the talent is unquestionable.

What does the new manager do? A loan to a championship side would suit all parties.
