The stage is set. Norwich are about five minutes away from bundling Arsenal out of the League Cup. Arsene Wenger throws on an 18-year-old striker who is only making his second senior appearance. What Eddie Nketiah did next ensures his place in Gunners’ folklore. He scored the equalizer with his first touch and then the winner during extra-time. Nketiah had engineered a dramatic jailbreak. With a fierce reputation at various age group levels, many hoped that Nketiah would get more opportunities, given the senior team’s struggles. While he hasn’t had the same bombastic impact on games after that brace, Nketiah may just be the next big striking prospect from the Hale End Academy.

What does the new manager do? This one is tricky. If Arsenal were to sell off some strikers, Nketiah may get a decent number of opportunities. Otherwise, the returning Lucas Perez, Chuba Akpom and Joel Campbell would all be vying to be the 3rd/4th striking option. In that situation, a loan is the only path that makes sense.
